Bracing, or rodding, involves the insertion of threaded rods into weak crotches or unions between tree branches. This additional support helps mitigate the impact of torsional forces exerted on the tree during storms or high winds.

It is essential that all supplemental support systems are installed according to the American National Standards Institute's A300 Standard for Tree Care Operations and inspected on an annual basis by a qualified arborist.
